Timeline of interests

My parents bought for me several series of childrens' encyclopaedias when I was little (about the age of 4). Looking through all of them, quite a few stuck out for me:

Geography: One was an atlas world map. Broken up into the various subcontinents of the world, the atlas details the countries, their flags, capital and land area, all of which were very fun to see.

Astronomy: Another was a book on Stars and Planets. Here, I got to know the bare basics of Astronomy. From my second favourite Saturnian moon (Mimas) to my favourite galaxy (Hoag's Object), I enjoyed exploring the extraordinary.

Dinosaurs: Of course, dinosaurs piqued my interest very easily. I recall quite a bit of my time was spent memorising the dinosaurs' names, famous ones being the Pachycephalosaurus and the Parasaurolophus.

Other books like the history of cars and ancient civilisations also caught my attention. But I don't remember my passion being realised.

Music: Aged 5, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons at Yamaha. I don't remember liking my time there but it was the foundation of what was to come.

Math: At the same time, I went for math enrichment classes, focussing not on math per se, but more on fun and engaging logical challenges. I very much enjoyed those classes.

Gaming: One of the most memorable games I played when young was Halo. Playing with cousins was definitely the most fun I have in the year. But game preferences change over time.

I'd say that all the ones mentioned above are my core interests. Nodes that will later branch off into my entire network of interconnected interests.

Primary 3 came and I was motivated to improve myself. I intensely diversified and specialised during this time.

Chemistry: Reading up on rock formations, I was captivated by the long chemical formulae of the minerals involved. Of course, I ended up getting into Chemistry.

Memorisation: Eventually, I memorised most of the world's countries (minus the caribbean, oceania and the stans) as well as the periodic table.
