My math started to falter at this stage. Seeing as though there are many foreigners taking the stage, I shifted focus away from maths. I still managed to get the top score for first and second term exams though :)
My streak of math competitions began here, obtaining a series of Bronzes and Silvers for the yearly Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO).
On one hand, my Math and Sciences always flourished. But deep deep down in the hellhole lay my humanities and languages. I must say that I am naturally not geared towards explanations and elaborations. This has become my biggest innate cognitive downfall. I just see problems in a different way as other people. It's just that... I have no idea how to explain them. I believe wholeheartedly in the notion that 'if you don't know how to explain a topic, you don't actually understand it'. The fact that I can't do so for most concepts is mildly infuriating.
Kinda bad in my position, for holistic education is how the system operates after all.
That's just for my intrinsic handicaps. I've also acquired several dysfunctionalities over my lifetime that gravely impacted my studying ability. I keep ending up in situations that easily upset and tormented me.
I was also shortlisted to compete in National Science Challenge but didn't attend the audition.
But enough of the negatives, which will be elaborated upon in my Personal site.
My time in Choir was pretty fun, but I'll cover that in my Music site.
